Sleep No More

Posted Feb 2, 2004 by: Hermione

Literary horror has taken the path of cinematic horror: anything recently released does not come close to comparing to the classics and tends to, well, suck. Greg Iles’ Sleep No More suffers from the same curse. It’s long, but seems longer, and aside from missing the mark at being terrifying, it is also the most boring thing you will ever read.

What's the Score? A One-of-a-Kind Compendium of Hockey Lore, Legend, History, Facts, Stats

Posted Sep 9, 2003 by: Hermione

A transcript of Boulenger's interview with Carpenter, Prince of Darkness transcends the typical 'behind the scenes' phenomenon and delves into a universe much deeper, darker, and far more political than one might have ever imagined possible

Déjà Dead

Posted May 12, 2003 by: Hermione

Fans of the television show CSI who have an interest in the forensic sciences that transcends what they can watch on television will want to pick up a copy of Kathy Reichs' first novel. It reads like a movie script and is written by someone who's been there and who knows what she's talking about. Those with little or no scientific knowledge may be left confused and grasping for common ground, however.

Monthly Schmuck

First Britney, now Christina. What’s with the current glut of music videos that trade on soft-porn images? I finally got around to watching Christina Aguillera’s music video, “Dirty”. I’ve seen parts of it before, but didn’t pay much attention.
